Hope my ramblings has helped in some way.CHEERS ALL. Nitroshare is an application for Linux, Mac and Windows that makes local file sharing simple: just click and drag. It may not be as quick as having nitroshare on all the machines in transferring data but I believe it is safer as I can monitor things better. It means that I do not have any ports open to the internet.Do not have to bother using certificates etc. When I am transferring data between the two 18.3 machines I have the Firewall turned off on both machines but the whole internal network is behind a stand alone firewall machine running smothwall express 3.1. The ripping machine has two front mounted hot swap 3.5" hdd and one hot swap 2.5" hdd caddies.This means I can seperate the machines for security reasons. I have two other machines on the same network, running 19.1 xfce but they do not have nitroshare installed, if I need to transfer data I just use a spare hdd or a dongle on the ripping machine and transfer the data to the 19.1 machines from an external dual caddy device or to a usb socket on either machine.

Hi all,As of note (1), not having any problems with nitroshare on two machines running 18.3 xfce, I use one machine as a repository for all my data plus a back up drive on that machine and the other machine I use to rip dvd,s cd,s etc and store the data on the repository machine using nitroshare. A workaround is mentioned in the github issue link posted below.Īuthor's Launchpad for Unstable builds.

And the ppa for the latest and greatest does not contain a version for "bionic", meaning as of 05-05-2019, there isn't a version for Linux Mint that will do Android to PC file transfers. Note 2: For LM19 the version of Nitroshare that comes with apt/apt-get does not allow detection of Android devices, it will only work for PC - PC file transfers. Note 1: It is probably best to use SSL certificates between all devices on the local network from a security standpoint, for the time being I'm working on a way to figure that out before I actually start using Nitroshare to share files, even if it's just on my local network. Then close all running instances of Nitroshare and start a new one, it should work.
